A Week Built Around Great Expectations: Inside Seventh Year Parish London's Harvest Programme

Some harvest weeks are about the final Sunday. The one planned by CCC Seventh Year Parish in London, United Kingdom, was about the whole journey.

According to a report by Celestial Prerogative News, the parish lined up programmes from Monday, October 12 to Sunday, October 18, 2026, all tied to the theme "Great Expectations", with faith, hope and service to others running through every day.

Highlights of the week:
- Monday: a night vigil, "The Awaited End", anchored on Proverbs 23:18 - "For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."
- Tuesday: an online symposium, "In Expectance of His Glory".
- Wednesday: a revival night, "I Will Not Be Ashamed".
- Thursday: a women's programme, "Expectations of a Wise Woman".
- Friday: a Prophets and Prophetesses night.
- Saturday: a charity day, "Jesus Expects You to Help", drawn from Matthew 25:35-36 (feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, visiting the sick).
- Sunday: the Harvest Thanksgiving Service at 10:00 a.m.

What stands out to us is the Saturday. Before the thanksgiving, the parish chose to put its faith into action for people in need.

Over to you:
- How does your parish turn harvest from a celebration into outreach?
- Which day of a harvest week speaks to you most, the vigil, the revival or the charity day?
