The harvest season keeps rolling, and this week the focus turns to the church where so many Celestians first learned to say "home." According to an announcement published by CCC Worldwide, the International Headquarters Church at Ketu, Lagos, also known as the Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa Cathedral, has named the committee for its 2026 Adult Harvest.
The appointments were announced by the Shepherd in Charge, Venerable Superior Evangelist Olatosho Oshoffa. The published list is long and covers many hands:
- Chairmen and chairpersons to lead the programme
- Treasurers and financial officers
- Advisers, male and female
- Ambassadors and general members with assigned duties
What stands out to us is how many ordinary members are named. A harvest at this scale is never the work of a few people. It runs on the quiet service of sidemen, sidewomen, choir members, ushers and volunteers who give their time long before the thanksgiving service begins.
If you worship at Ketu, or you have ever been there for a harvest, the committee list is a reminder that there is a place for you to serve, however small it feels.
Over to you:
- What is the one task at your parish harvest that members rarely notice, but that makes the whole day work?
- If you have served on a harvest committee before, what did it teach you about service?
