Imeko Remembers: 41st Remembrance Service for Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa
Every October, the Celestial family turns its eyes toward Imeko. This year, according to an announcement from CCC Worldwide carried on its official news site, the 41st Remembrance Service for the church's founder, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, was set for Sunday, October 18 and Monday, October 19, 2026.

The programme, put together by the All Saints Remembrance Committee, was to open at the Celestial City in Imeko on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. On Monday, a special gathering was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Celestial Basilica, Imeko, Ogun State. Clergy, spiritual workers and members from across Nigeria and beyond were invited to come together and honour the life and ministry of the man who founded the church on September 29, 1947.

The announcement describes the remembrance as a time to reflect on the spiritual heritage he left behind, and to hand that memory down to the next generation. From a small beginning in Porto-Novo, the church today has congregations across Africa, Europe, North America and beyond.

For many Celestians, Imeko is more than a place on the map. It is where the story of the church is felt most strongly.

Over to you:
- If you were at Imeko this year, what moment stayed with you most?
- What part of Papa Oshoffa's legacy do you most want your children to know?
