Columbus, Ohio, has been carrying the "Divine Mandate" this month. According to Global Mirror News, and the parish's own harvest page, the Celestial Church of Christ Columbus Cathedral (Region F, USA National Diocese) marked its 11th Adult Harvest from October 8 to 11, 2026, anchored on Genesis 1:28.
The theme, "A Mandate for Population, Stewardship and Dominion," reminded worshippers that blessing comes with responsibility. The four days included:
- A pre-harvest open revival online on Thursday, October 8.
- The Ohio Great Exploit Night, an overnight prayer and worship session on Friday.
- The parish's annual visit to homeless people on Saturday, October 10.
- The grand harvest service on Sunday, October 11, hosted by Shepherd-in-Charge VSE Amos A. Ojerinde.
What stands out to us is the reach beyond the pews. Global Mirror News reports that representatives of neighbouring churches, a Muslim community delegation and a Yoruba cultural club took part, alongside visitors from Nigeria and across the United States.
Over to you:
- Does your parish take its harvest out to the community, the way Columbus did with its visit to the homeless?
- What does "stewardship" look like in your own home this season?
